Momenteel wordt er nog hard gewerkt aan het programma van de zesde editie van het Geestdrift Festival. En hoewel de laatste puntjes nog op de spreekwoordelijke i worden gezet kunnen we je al wel de onderstaande tijden bekendmaken.
Om 11:30 zetten we de deuren van de Pieterskerk open.
12:00 uur start het programma en om 12:10 uur geeft Miroslav Volf zijn eerste lezing “Religie in een geglobaliseerde wereld”. Volgens velen is religie onbelangrijk, van voorbijgaande aard maar tot die tijd gevaarlijk. In zijn lezing zal Miroslav Volf beargumenteren dat religie een onmisbare bijdrage levert aan de kwaliteit van het leven en van groot belang is binnen onze geglobaliseerde wereld. Religie bevat een schat aan kennis en houvast die van levensbelang is voor het menselijk welvaren. En dat is juist vandaag de dag zo relevant in de door marktmechanismes en technologie gedreven geglobaliseerde wereld.
Het middagprogramma duurt tot 18:00 uur en om 19:00 uur begint het avondprogramma. Om 19:10 uur zal Miroslav Volf zijn tweede lezing “God en misbruik” verzorgen. Schandalen rond mishandeling en met name seksueel misbruik hebben de laatste jaren vele religieuze gemeenschappen in een kwaad daglicht gesteld. Met deze lezing wil Volf dieper in gaan op wat we kunnen leren uit deze situaties naar aanleiding van de ervaring van de slachtoffers. Volf schuwt de moeilijke onderwerpen niet en blijft onophoudelijk op zoek naar de verhalen van degenen die achtergebleven, gekwetst en beschadigd zijn geraakt.
Het festival eindigt om 23:00 uur.
